Central Unit (1st generation), SHC Classic

The SmartHome Center is the heart of your SmartHome. Whether radiator thermostats, smoke detectors, roller shutter controls – the SHC intelligently links all your SmartHome devices and turns your home into a real “SmartHome”.

  • Connects all SmartHome devices via radio
  • Encrypted radio transmission
  • Easy integration of compatible partner devices
  • Easy to use
  • Easy to install, set up and control
  • Also works fully locally: The local SmartHome

For technical reasons, the maximum number of devices and usable scenarios in the SmartHome system is limited. The specific maximum number depends heavily on individual use and only becomes relevant for large SmartHome installations (more than 80 devices).

Assembly of the SHC

The Internet router must support automatic IP address assignment via DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol). Please refer to the documents for your internet router to find out how to set your internet router to automatic address allocation.

It is recommended to establish a permanent Internet connection via an Internet router.

You can use the central unit as a floor-standing or wall-mounted device. This means that the device adapts harmoniously to your living environment.

Standalone

As a freestanding device, you mount the included stand (A) on the back of the control panel. To do this, push the foot from the back into the grooves on the back of the SHC until it stops

Wall-mounted

  • First open the cover of the connection ports.
  • Connect the SHC to a free Ethernet port on your internet router using the included Ethernet cable (connection socket (H)).
  • To do this, connect the included power supply to the SHC (connection socket (G) and into an easily accessible 230V socket.
To avoid damage to the device, please only use the original power supply supplied to power the SHC.
  • Finally, put the cover back on.
Please use the two screws and dowels provided for wall mounting.
  • Drill two holes with a diameter of 5mm in the wall at a distance of 129mm. Insert the dowels into the holes. Screw the screws into the dowels so that they protrude approx. 1.5mm from the wall.
Align the grooves (B) of the control panel over the screw heads. Carefully slide the SHC down until it sits firmly on the screw heads.

Internet router settings

For most Internet routers, configuration is not necessary. However, for some customer and many corporate networks, ports and firewall settings must be made manually.

Settings when using an NTP server (Network Time Protocol)

  • Port 123 / UDP
  • HTTP Port 80 / TCP
  • HTTPS Port 443 / TCP

Settings if the PC is behind a firewall viewed from the Internet

  • HTTP Port 80 / TCP
  • HTTPS Port 443 / TCP

Required IPs/ports that need to be set in the router

  • services-smarthome.de - 193.25.80.80 ''HTTPS (443/tcp)''
